Whatever it takes to get the shot.
This was a memorable shoot because its my very first sunset shoot with a model, actually there were 2 models that day and I wanted to make sure I create what I visioned. I had a to carry a generator filled with gas, large camera bag, light stands and strobes about 200 yards of beach and a small climb thru some rocks. Why generator? Well I had Alien bees power strobe but my power pack didn't come in time for the shoot. So I rented a Honda generator! By the time I setup my lights and camera I noticed the sun was starting to drop very fast and to add more stress I noticed that high tides were coming. I probably only had about 10 minutes to shoot the models. After the first shot I took a look at the preview and it came out just the way I had visioned it.
My everything Melia and Rielan
The family and I were on our way to Lake Tahoe, Ca for vacation. Halfway thru our trip we decided to take a pit stop in Sacramento, Ca (Old Town) and get a bite to eat. Old town is historical area of Sacramento that has old brick roads, river boats and a western feel to it. Stop by and bring the kids if you are ever in the Sacramento area. I rented a 14-24mm Nikon lens and I wanted to try it out so why not try it on the kids. So I place my kids right in the the center of a railroad, probably not the best idea to put kids on a active railroad .. Yike's!! Don't worry trains go less than 5mph thru old town. I shot this at 3:00pm in the afternoon, 14mm @F4 and speed at 1,000. This is my favorite picture of my kids and thats why I made it my first blog.

Calm and collective
This picture is one of my favorite shots of all the weddings I've done. After the bride put on her dress, shoes and vail one of the brides maid noticed that the backside of her dress was wrinkled. With time ticking and a great time to panic this bride stayed calm and collective. She even managed to smile at the camera while her maid of honor ironed out the tail of her dress.
Ballet
I captured this graceful image of Jaelyn by using only 1 light source (Alien Bee 800) with a 60 Octobox to her left side. Jaelyn did such a great job at this shoot and was willing to do anything to get the image. Thank you Jaelyn for everything.
Gold Coast rooftop shoot
In the summer of 2014 I had the opportunity to shoot on a rooftop and capture some apparel for Gold Coast apparel. Model Savannah Kreisman was perfect for this shoot because she has the California girl look. I used my Nikon D700, 24-105mm, B800 Alien Bee strobe and 1 large octobox. My white balance was at 5800 to give it a warm feel and look.
